TUTORING

I started my 22-year ESL career in Bundang, South Korea, in 2002. Since then, I’ve trained and tutored thousands of students from kindy to corporate in four Asian countries and online. I have a BA degree in journalism, cutting my journalistic teeth as a weekend sports anchor at KVIQ-TV in Eureka, California, and later working as a news reporter, weekend sports anchor, and sports director at KGNS-TV in Laredo, Texas. After retiring from television news, I owned and operated a disc jockey entertainment company in my hometown of San Diego, deejaying and emceeing weddings and corporate events throughout Southern California.

I’m a certified IELTS speaking specialist based in Da Nang, Vietnam. I started teaching IELTS classes in 2007 and completed my speaking examiner certification with the British Council in 2008. I’ve worked as an IELTS speaking coach and mock tester, and I’m also qualified to help students improve their OPIc, TOEIC, and TOEFL speaking scores. I’m an identical twin and a Gemini (the astrological sign of the twins), born in San Diego, California, where I grew up surfing and playing beach volleyball.
